Defiant Trespass, Theft By Deception, Shoplifting: Princeton Police Blotter

The following is a summary of incidents as reported by Princeton Police:

PRINCETON, NJ — On July 25, at 06:02 a.m., Princeton Police officers responded to the 100 block of Nassau Street to investigate the report of an unwanted person. Upon their arrival they found a 70-year-old woman who had defiantly trespassed into the business. The Princeton resident would later be issued a summons for defiant trespass and obstructing the administration of law by failing to obey a lawful order.

On July 21, Princeton Police Officers responded to police headquarters on the report of a theft by deception. On their arrival, the victim reported that an unknown person had contacted them by telephone and advised them there was a federal warrant for their arrest. The unknown person then attempted to have the victim pay $20,000 in order to not be arrested. The victim did not pay any money to the suspect. This incident is under investigation.

On July 26, Princeton Police officers responded to Police Headquarters to investigate the report of a theft. Upon their arrival, the victim reported that a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses valued at $324, had been stolen on 7/25/2026 from the 4000 block of Province Line Road. This theft remain under investigation.

On July 27, the Princeton Police Department received a report of a shoplifting incident that had occurred on July 21, at approximately 3:54 p.m. on Nassau Street. The investigation determined that two men and a woman allegedly stole merchandise valued at a total of $1,288.00 from the store. The incident remains under investigation.
