1. Princeton Council Approves No-Parking Ordinance For Hun Road (patch.com) — Princeton officials have approved a new no-parking zone along the even-numbered side of Hun Road to ensure trash trucks and emergency vehicles can safely get through. After feedback from residents, the restriction was shifted from the odd side, with some neighbors backing the change due to blocked access and others questioning the need for it. 2. From Reb Levi Yitzchok: The Nations Will Fear You (collive.com) — A weekly Torah shiur led by Rabbi Dovid Dubov of Chabad of Mercer County in Princeton explores teachings of Harav Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, focusing this time on how tefillin shel rosh relate to the verse "the nations will fear you." 3. Becker, Chapman power Ocean City past Princeton (nj.com subscription) — Princeton High's football team opened its season with a tough 39-0 loss to Ocean City in the Battle at the Beach showcase, despite lineman Rio Giamarese earning game MVP honors for the Tigers. Ocean City's quarterback-receiver combo and dominant defense controlled the game, while Princeton now looks to regroup before its Sept. 4 matchup at Allentown.
4. Three College faculty members to join the Institute for Advanced Study (iu.edu) — Three Indiana University Bloomington scholars have been selected to spend time at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, deepening research on Chinese state enterprises, race and immigration, and medieval economic literature. Their work will unfold within IAS's renowned residential community of scholars. For Princeton residents, it's another reminder of the global-caliber research continually flowing through a local institution.
