Princeton's 11th Annual Welcoming Week Set For Sept. 10-19

PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton is gearing up for its 11th Annual Welcoming Week, running Sept. 10-19, joining communities across the country and around the world in promoting inclusion, belonging and community connection.

This year's theme is "Stories We Share, The Courage to Connect."

Welcoming Week launched nationally in 2012, encouraging communities to build stronger relationships among neighbors of all backgrounds. Princeton has participated for more than a decade.

Throughout the week, residents will have opportunities to come together through cultural events, community gatherings, volunteer activities and educational programs celebrating Princeton's diverse cultures, histories, traditions and experiences.

There are several ways for residents to get involved:

• Learn about the national Welcoming America movement, which supports the broader effort to foster belonging and inclusion in communities nationwide.

• Take a photo with an "I'm a Welcomer" sign, available in multiple languages, and share it on social media.

• Attend Welcoming Week events throughout Princeton, with a full schedule available on the municipality's website.

• Explore the stories of immigrant entrepreneurs who contribute to Princeton's business community.

• Local businesses are encouraged to participate by offering Welcoming Week promotions, such as a discount with a show of a flyer, or by displaying welcoming signage.
