Receiving Stolen Property, DUI, Warrant Arrest: Princeton Police Blotter

The following is a summary of incidents as reported by Princeton Police:

On Sept. 6, at 8:17 p.m., patrols responded to Alexander Street for a reported bicycle theft from the Princeton University campus. A 9-1-1 caller reported observing two males cut the locks from two bicycles on Theatre Drive before fleeing northbound. Patrols located an individual nearby in possession of one of the bicycles, and he admitted removing it from the campus. Princeton University Department of Public Safety officers responded and took possession of the bicycle for further investigation. At the time of the report, no charges had been filed pending the completion of the PUDPS Investigation.

On Sept. 7, at 11:29 p.m., patrols responded to a home on Nassau Street for a report of a suspicious person. Officers located a 61-year-old Princeton woman inside the apartment building's lobby without permission. A records check revealed that the woman had two active warrants issued by Mount Laurel Township Court and Moorestown Municipal Court, with bail amounts totaling $4,750. She was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing. The woman was later released on her own recognizance pending new court dates in both jurisdictions.

On Sept.7, at 1:52 a.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Nassau Street and Stockton Street after observing a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations, including an improper turn, failure to keep right, and failure to utilize a turn signal. The driver, from Northfield, NJ, displayed signs of impairment and he was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and taken to police headquarters for processing. The 27-year-old was issued summonses for Driving While Intoxicated, improper turn, failure to keep right, and failure to utilize a turn signal. He was processed and subsequently released to a sober adult.
