PRINCETON, NJ — Fifteen stages, more than 70 musical acts, one afternoon of fun. After being canceled earlier this year due to inclement weather, Princeton Porchfest returns Saturday, for an afternoon of live music around town.
The fifth edition of Princeton Porchfest will feature live music on front porches, driveways and garages, along with stages at Hinds Plaza, the Princeton University Art Museum and Maclean House, from noon to 6 p.m. From classic rock and bluegrass to jazz, singer-songwriter, blues, hip-hop and classical, there's something for everyone.
Most locations will feature five sets each, with a new act taking the stage every hour. Sets typically run 45 minutes, leaving 15-minute breaks between performances. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair and settle in at one location, or wear comfortable walking shoes and hop from porch to porch.
Attendees can also explore the local dining scene by grabbing a bite, a drink or a coffee at one of the small businesses around town.
The day concludes with a closing concert at Hinds Plaza, outside the Princeton Public Library, starting at 5:15 p.m. Tony & The Trees will bring their signature funky, bluesy sound, and Triumph Restaurant & Brewery will provide local beer.
The Arts Council of Princeton notes that the performer schedule is subject to change. An interactive map is available for attendees to plan their day.
