📰 News we're reading

• Sun Pharma funds $2.5M dermatology professorship (njbiz.com) — Sun Pharma, whose U.S. headquarters and tax-incentivized base are in Princeton, has funded a $2.5 million endowed dermatology professorship at Mount Sinai in New York. The company recently secured state tax credits to keep its Princeton operations for at least 11 years, while also expanding in New Jersey through a multibillion-dollar acquisition of Organon.

• Princeton Giving Project – Fostering Collaborative and Collective Philanthropy (TAPinto.net) — A new resident-led Princeton Giving Project is pooling small quarterly donations from neighbors to make larger grants to local nonprofits, while also connecting volunteers with causes in town. Founded by two Community Park School parents, the giving circle already has about 70 members and over $10,000 in grants, and is inviting more Princeton residents to join future funding cycles.

• Fusion Ignition May Need Less Energy, PPPL Says (developmentstoday.com) — Researchers at Princeton's Plasma Physics Laboratory say changing how plasma is heated and compressed could significantly cut the energy needed to achieve fusion ignition. Their new framework, expanding on the Lawson criterion, maps a potentially more efficient path to self-sustaining fusion reactions, keeping Princeton at the center of long-term clean-energy research that could eventually influence regional and global power systems.
