B+B Hair Color Studio Opens in Princeton

 

B+B Hair Color Studio, run by husband and wife Tim and Kate Bricker recently joined the growing family of ARROJO Ambassadors.

Already, Tim has styled alongside Nick Arrojo on main-stage at IBS New York; and the salon hosted ARROJO at the recent opening of their new location, B+B, Princeton.

As well as a renowned educator and a veteran of New York Fashion Week, Tim has credits for editorial work and television appearances on Fox’s Ambush Makeover and TLC’s A Makeover Story. He spoke to us about what it means to join the Ambassadors Program, and what makes his salon a success. 

Q. It seems like an exciting time for B+B Hair Color Studios.  Tell me about your new location… We are in love. At street level in an energetic and artsy neighborhood, the new salon represents everything we strive to be. With a fresh modern look, polished concrete floors, and large murals of our work on the walls, it’s an exciting place. Our custom-made retail display showcases ARROJO product nicely.

You’ve been named one of New Jersey’s top salons by Health and Beauty Magazine. What do you think sets B+B Hair Color Studio apart from others salons in the area? A warm and welcoming group of professionals creating beautiful and wearable hairstyles defines our culture. Our partnership with ARROJO sets us apart from other salons in the area. It comes down to education. We are training with amazing stylists. ARROJO’s cut and color techniques, and especially Nick’s signature razor-cutting method, are strengthening the skills of my team. It’s an asset and point of difference for our salon.  

As a salon owner, why is education important to you?  Education is a necessity if you want to keep current and have a competitive edge. It fuels the passion that makes us strive for perfection. Personal and artistic growth evolves from challenging yourself. The advanced education from the ARROJO team is a phenomenal way to keep us motivated! 

How do your stylists and clients feel about ARROJO products? We love the sleek new look of ARROJO products, and can hardly keep them in stock. The SHINE LUXE line is our top seller, and ReFINISH is a whole new category of product. Hairdressers creating product for other hairdressers means straightforward, easy-to-use products with terrific, performance-based results.  

What are some ways in which you participate in education? Now we train our stylists and assistants in hair design at the ARROJO Academy or through ARROJO’s educational DVDs. B+B Studio uses Goldwell color, and we get additional education from their team. As ARROJO also uses Goldwell, it’s another wire of connection.  

Why did you decide to become an ARROJO Ambassador salon, and what effect has this transition had on your business? I recently reconnected with Nick, and was intrigued by how successful his Ambassador Program has become. I felt a great opportunity to strengthen and grow my brand. On my first Razor Fundamentals course, Nick spoke about doing the right things and working hard to achieve greatness, and that resonated with me. ARROJO offers me styling and business training, and helps me realize my vision for B+B. It’s the best business decision we’ve ever made.
