Less than six weeks away from the start of an exciting summer at The Hun School of Princeton! Academics, Camp for children, and English as a Second Language run the same five weeks, June 25 to July 27. You can have a teenager in academics and a younger child in day camp the same time. It is a win/win set up for busy parents in the summer. All programs are open to students in the area, not just Hun School students.
Our day camp is unique. We provide a camp experience that is fun and safe. Campers are grouped by age and gender and get to choose their own activities as a group for the next day. These games and sports vary from fishing to kickball. All our counselors are adults with many being Hun School teachers and alumni. Our junior counselors are Hun School students and are selected by our Camp Director, Bill Long. He is entering his 26th year as camp director. The camp also includes before and after care, lunch in the School's air-conditioned dining hall, and daily swimming at The Pennington School. Swimming includes a half hour of instruction and a half hour of free swim. All the lifeguards and swim instructors are certified in Red Cross life saving and swim instruction. Following swimming there is time for another activity and s snack. Special days at camp include Water Sports Day, Hun Olympics, Scavenger Hunt, Safari Game Day, and our annual talent show for parents and camper sleepover the last night of camp, July 26. Theme days include Backwards Day, Hawaiian Day, Red, White and Blue Day, and 60's Day. Camp runs from 9 am to 3 pm with after care running to 5:15 pm.

The ESL program, The American Culture and Language Institute, provides English instruction daily for the five weeks and combines historical trips to New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. and fun excursions that include white water rafting, shopping, and Hershey Park.
This program is great for the non-English speaker or for the student who has been in ESL for a year or two at a local school. Day students or resident students are welcome in the program.
Teaching faculty are seasoned ESL teachers from The Hun School who work with the School's international population throughout the school year. There are three levels in the program: beginner, intermediate, or advanced. The Hun School provides testing on the first day of the program to determine placement.
