Arts Council of Princeton Summer Concert Series: Dende and Band
Dendê & Band will perform on Thursday, July 28 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

Princeton, NJ -- The Arts Council of Princeton, in partnership with the Princeton Shopping Center and Edens, presents Dendê & Band on Thursday, July 28, 6 p.m. in the Princeton Shopping Center Courtyard, 301 North Harrison Street.
Dendê is a percussionist, singer, composer, band leader, teacher, and multi-instrumentalist. He’s been a professional musician since the age of 14, when he appeared in the front line of Timbalada, Carlinhos Brown’s superstar percussion ensemble.
Since 2001, he’s been developing his solo career, splitting his time between the US and Bahia. Dendê & Band have cultivated a unique sound where Afro-Brazilian traditions like samba de roda and candomble have been seamlessly melded with world rhythms like rumba, afrobeat and mbalax.
