Learn to create more interesting portraits. We'll discuss key points for planning a portrait, including its style and purpose—whether it's a natural portrait, a posed family photo, a formal headshot, or an artistic street shot. You'll learn how to use light to convey emotion and expression, understand focal length and its impact on facial features, choose the right gear and backgrounds, and more. Thomas will show how he sets up and interacts with a subject. You'll practice taking both individual and group portraits, focusing on light and posing using natural and studio lighting. You'll leave with the skills and inspiration to build your own Portrait Portfolio.

In this fun, hands-on International Cooking Class, students will explore global flavors and culinary traditions while learning to prepare a delicious three-course meal featuring an appetizer, main course, and dessert.&nbsp;
Along the way, students will build cooking skills, discover new ingredients, and learn how food brings people and cultures together. Once the cooking is complete, everyone will gather around the table to share and enjoy the meal they’ve created together.

Music Together

Join us for a special alumni recital celebrating over 65 years of transformative music education and the lifelong connections formed through music study. Featuring NSMS alumni, this concert brings our musical community together to celebrate the joy of performance, the achievements of former students, and a shared love of music that continues long after their time at NSMS.
The piano recital features NSMS alumni Henry Banta, Amy Glennon, Peter Groch, Phyllis Lehrer, Marvin Rosen, Zack Kleiman and others in a program of works by Alan Hovhaness, Rain Worthington, Ludovico Einaudi, Frédéric Chopin, Ludwig van Beethoven, and more.The recital will be in the Community Room at Music Together Headquarters.&nbsp;&nbsp;
A short reception will be held at the conclusion of the recital. 
Admission: $20 Adults | $10 Students and Seniors

Music for Life:  An Alumni Recital (The New School for Music Study)

Gill Memorial Chapel

The Westminster Community Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Ruth Ochs, will present their first concert of the season on Sunday, November 8, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at their new performance home, Gill Memorial Chapel, on the Rider University campus.
Titled “New Horizons” the concert will feature Richard Rodgers’ music from Carousel,&nbsp;Scott Joplin’s Overture to Treemonisha, selections from Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt, and the third and fourth movements from Brahms’ Symphony No. 1. The concert will also include the world premiere of recent Rider University graduate Sean Haugh’s “Overture for a New Home” (Air on “The Lord Bless You and Keep You”).
Sean Haugh has sold compositions and arrangements worldwide, including choral and instrumental works. Recently, he worked with Grammarly Inc to compose Writing’s Not That Easy, recorded by Soulfege Acappella and published on all major streaming platforms. In April 2026, Sean was the first-place recipient for Westminster’s Composition Competition with his saxophone quartet piece, The Verdant Gale.&nbsp;

Princeton Friends School

Our family-friendly dance features square dances, contra dances, play party games, other traditional American dances, and sometimes folk dances from around the world; it’s great fun for the whole family, from young children (ages 4 and up) to adults. No partner or experience is needed. The dances will be led by our local callers; live music will be provided by the Mixed Age Dance Band. Musicians of all ages and abilities are welcome to join the MAD Band - there is a rehearsal immediately before each family dance. Admission: $10 per person, or $25 per family of 3 or more. For those with limited income: $5-$10 per person and $15-$25 per family
