Child, Adults Hospitalized After Carbon Monoxide Leak In Mercer Co.
The 3-year-old child and 4 adults were airlifted to a hospital in New York. Poisoning was likely caused due to a gas-powered generator.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A three-year-old child and four adults were airlifted to a hospital in New York after they suffered carbon monoxide poisoning in Trenton Thursday night.
Late on Thursday night, Trenton EMS responded to a call of general sickness on North Olden Ave., where they detected what they thought was presence of carbon monoxide, Timothy J. Carroll, Trenton’s Public Information Officer said.
The Hazardous Materials Team registered extremely high levels of carbon monoxide, roughly 600 parts per million, in the rental property Carroll said.

Authorities believe the poisoning was caused due to the use of a gas-powered generator in the basement.
The four adults and child were taken to Capital Health. Medical helicopters then transported the victims to a hospital in New York for treatment.
