Gov. Chris Christie provided a biting, profanity-laced roast of reporters during the annual New Jersey Legislative Correspondents Club Show this past week, telling them he “doesn’t give a s---” about them while mocking their coverage of him.

An audio recording of the Wednesday speech was obtained by International Business Times, even though organizers said the event was considered to be off-the-record. Below is a recording of the event published by IBT.

Christie suggested he may run for president if it means avoiding the annual event next year. “Anything that gets me off this f------ stage next year, I’m willing to do anything,” Christie said, according to the IBT recording. “Why do you think I might run for president? ‘Cause I don’t know what primary is in May 2016 next year, but if I’m at 1 f------ percent, I will be there.”

The event held by the New Jersey press corps is a fundraiser for scholarships that resembles the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner. In New Jersey’s case, the reporters wear costumes and perform skits and dances before the governor gives a speech.

Christie noted that prior dinners have been videotaped, but not this year. ”The reason that we don’t have a video is that we don’t give a s--- anymore.”

“The truth of the matter is: We don’t give a s--- about this, or about any of you,” he said.

He mocked another reporter who tried to get the governor to agree to an interview at a New Hampshire event by saying it was his birthday. Christie expected a big, probing question. Instead, he said, the question was, “How’s New Hampshire?”

“How’s New Hampshire?” he said. “Are you f----- kidding me?”
