Construction Work, Zoning Board, BOE: Princeton This Week

PRINCETON, NJ – Good morning, neighbors. Welcome to another edition on the Monday manual where we have information on what's happening in town this week.

Summer Construction

Here are the construction work scheduled for the week of August 21:

• Witherspoon Street: Work on Witherspoon Street continue swith storm sewer and sidewalk construction. Traffic will alternate in one lane through the construction area between Leigh Avenue and Green Street. Witherspoon Street between Nassau Street and Spring Street will be closed Monday-Wednesday August 21-23.
• Spring Street Garage: The Spring Street Garage repairs will continue. Up to 100 spaces will be unavailable for parking on the upper levels of the garage.
• Gas Main Replacement: Waters & Bugbee will complete replacement of the gas main in Moore Street, Cuyler Road, and Hawthorne Avenue and then move to Jefferson Road and Valley Road. Replacement of services on Guyot Avenue will also begin. Some roads will be closed and detours will be in place.
• Alice Development: The Alice development at the corner of Terhune Road and North Harrison Street begins stormwater utility installation. Terhune Road will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic between Grover Avenue and Harrison Street, with complete closures periodically when trenches across the road are being dug. Detours will be in place.
• Chambers Street Sidewalk: The sidewalk on Nassau Street at the corner of Chambers Street is still under construction and reopening is delayed due to design constraints.
• Bank Street Road Closure: Bank Street will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 22, for resurfacing of the parking lot behind 12 Nassau Street.
• Sidewalk Curb Ramps: Contractor will be constructing sidewalk curb ramps beginning Aug. 21 on Hutchinson Drive.
• Princeton University Utility Installation: Washington Road between Prospect Avenue and Ivy Lane will be closed 7 p.m. - 5 a.m., Aug. 21-24, by Princeton University for underground utility installation. Washington Road at the D&R canal remains closed to through traffic for bridge repair.
• Sanitary Sewer Excavation: Mount Lucas Road near Poor Farm Road will have alternating traffic for sanitary sewer excavation and installation Tuesday, Aug. 22.
• PSE&G Electric Wiring: PSE&G Electric will be running underground wires in front of 172 Nassau Street. Parking will not be available in this area, but traffic will flow as usual.
