Controversial Writer to Speak at Princeton Baccalaureate Ceremony

Randall Kennedy will speak at the event on May 29.

Princeton, NJ -- The Harvard Law School professor who wrote the controversial bestseller “Nigger: The Strange Career of a Troublesome Word,” has been selected as the speaker for Princeton University’s Baccalaureate ceremony, Planet Princeton reports.

Randall Kennedy is a Princeton University alum and served two stints as a Trustee, from 1994-98 and 2005-15, according to the report. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1977.

His book “Race, Crime and Law” won the Robert F. Kennedy Book Award for best representing the late Kennedy’s devotion to justice, according to the report.
