Coronavirus Seniors, Staff Cases At Princeton Nursing Homes

Here are the latest Coronavirus cases, deaths at Mercer County nursing homes, and long-term care facilities including seniors and staff.

PRINCETON, NJ — Here are the latest coronavirus cases and deaths for both staff members and senior residents living at nursing homes and long-term care facilities in Princeton and Mercer County as of Monday, May 25. Gov. Phil Murphy said last week that his administration was moving to a new reporting metric which now separates the cases between staff members from residents.

The state has a dashboard set up that tracks the number of cases statewide, including how many cases and fatalities involve long-term care facilities. The latest in Princeton show 39 cases for senior residents and 23 positive staff members spread among the 2 impacted facilities. There have been 12 senior resident deaths and zero staff member deaths at these facilities as reported by the New Jersey Department of Health on Monday.

The largest outbreak in Princeton is Princeton Care Center with 23 positive cases and 8 deaths for seniors and 16 positive cases and zero deaths for staff members.

Comparing Princeton to Mercer County, the latest in Mercer County show 1,041 senior cases and 480 total staff cases are spread among the 23 impacted facilities. There have been 288 deaths of senior and 3 deaths of staff members at these facilities as reported by the NNJDOH.

The largest outbreak in Mercer County remains at Hamilton Continuing Care in Hamilton. The report shows 104 cases and 37 deaths of seniors and 43 cases and 0 deaths of staff members.

Statewide, 20,771 positive cases for seniors and 9,681 positive cases for staff members of the coronavirus have been identified at 536 long-term care facilities. There have been 4,768 deaths total of seniors and staff at these facilities.
