Xufeng Huang was reported missing while visiting her daughter from China last year. Her body was discovered the next day.

PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton Police now know who was responsible for the death of a 69-year-old woman who was killed after being hit by a car while visiting her daughter from China last year.
However, the person won’t be charged criminally or with motor vehicle violations as the person thought they had hit a deer, and was unaware they played a part in Xufeng Huang’s death, Princeton Police said Monday morning.
Huang’s body was found on the south side of Mercer Street near Gallup Road in a wooded area off the roadway at around 10 a.m. on Sept. 17, 2016.

Police conducted a search of all motor vehicle crashes reported on Sept. 15, 2016. They discovered a 44-year-old driver from Arlington, Va., reported that he was involved in a collision with a deer on Mercer Street in the area of Gallup Road at about 8:44 p.m. He had been driving a 2007 Black Mercedes Benz.
Investigators went to driver’s home to interview him and collect evidence. The evidence collected was submitted to the NJSP laboratory for forensic testing. The test results were recently returned and it was determined that he had actually hit Huang, police said.
Investigators from the Princeton Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office found no criminal conduct or recklessness on the part of the driver. The investigation determined that Huang had been standing in the traveled portion of the road when she was hit.
Police didn’t reveal the driver’s identity because he was not charged with any offenses related to the crash.
