PRINCETON, NJ — Meet Doni! He has been chosen as Princeton Patch's Pet Of The Week.
"For years and many family debates on whether we should get a dog or not. Our three children desperately wanted one. My husband and I were nervous and scared. You see, we have never had pets in or lives. We knew nothing about keeping any pets.

Long story short, when my older two children went off to college, my youngest was lonely. We caved in and for my youngest, we decided to get a dog. We felt it would help my youngest mature, and take away his loneliness.
Initially we wanted a rescue dog, but since we were totally inexperienced, we thought of taking a safe route and adopt from a breeder.

We gave the responsibility of researching the best breeder, the best dog breeds for beginners, to my youngest son. He excelled, and finally went to a breeder in Cherry Hill.
My son chose a puppy that was the smallest of the litter, and the most calmest, and the quieter, one.
Now he is 18 months old, and we truly feel we don't know what we did to get such a good and amazing dog.
We did some training, very little, but he is the most obedient dog I've ever seen. He is so huggable, so excited to see us every time, he almost jumps out of his skin. He never barks. He just gives a little low bark when he needs to go out for his business. When we are too busy to play with him he totally understand and follows us around or lays down where he can see us.
He sends himself to bed at 9 p.m. every night. and never wakes up in the night. He had never begged for food, just watches us eat, and when he knows he won't get anything, he walks away. He won't go upstairs unless we say "OK come on then."
He doesn't jump on people and we had only told him once not to jump. With all his training we only needed to tell him one time. He hasn't destroyed any of our furniture, he isn't naughty and I could go on.
I still don't know what we did to deserve this amazing dog, who cuddles up and kisses us all the time. We are truly blessed! Every guest has told us they've never seen such a good, well behaved, lovable dog. Even those who are generally scared of dogs, aren't of our Doni."
