DPD Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson Provides Optimal Care
Grateful to the DPD staff for providing the supports and loving care that enable my sister with disabilities to realize her dreams.
Another holiday season is upon us, which presents an optimal time for all of us to pause and express gratitude for those who have made a difference in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones. One such organization is DPD, Diocese of Paterson, that provides exceptional care for my sister who has special needs. Debbie has been going to a DPD day program since 1985 and started living in a DPD group home at the age of 48 when our mom passed away in 2012.
Transitioning to a new home while dealing with the loss of our mother was understandably very hard for Debbie. She acted out. But from day one, the direct support staff at DPD responded with patience, caring and love, and that has continued every day since. The direct support professionals hired by DPD are extraordinary individuals who are clearly passionate about what they do. They dedicate their lives to enriching the lives of others. No question, that’s what they do for my sister. I am grateful for DPD this holiday season and every season of the year for their support of my sister and family. It truly is an organization that captures what it means to be Catholic and look out for people.
