Drunk Driver Hits Business, Pedestrian In Princeton: Police

Axel Deleon-Perez was charged with DWI and assault by auto.

Princeton, NJ -- A Trenton man has been charged with DWI and assault by auto after he hit a business and a person while driving on Hulfish Street, Princeton Police said on Wednesday.

Axel Deleon-Perez, 27, was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving and operating a vehicle with no insurance.

Deleon-Perez was driving a blue 2006 Chevrolet south on Witherspoon Street on Nov. 10 at 10:50 p.m., police said. operating a blue colored 2006 Chevrolet. He was unable to negotiate the right turn onto Hulfish Street, and struck La Jolie Salon and Spa, according to police

Deleon-Perez continued to driving, eventually hitting 35-year-old Phanisupriya Sajja, of Plainsboro. Sajja sustained non-life threatening injuries to her lower extremities and was transported to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, police said.

Deleon-Perez was arrested, and later released with his summonses pending court.
