Edison Man Killed In Rt. 18 Crash In Colts Neck
Two people were traveling south on Route 18 when the car drove off the roadway, crashed with a tree, and overturned, authorities said.
EDISON, NJ — An Edison resident was killed Sunday morning after the car he was traveling in veered off the road in Colts Neck just before 3 a.m., according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's office.
The car was traveling southbound on Route 18 in the area of Milepost 20.8.
According to authorities, the car was driven by a woman from Seaside Heights and the Edison man was the passenger.
The 2011 Mazda traveled off the roadway to the right, crashed with a tree and overturned, coming to a final rest against another tree ending upside down in a drainage culvert, officials said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Her injuries were, however, not life-threatening and she is currently in stable condition, authorities said.
The crash is still under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team and the Colts Neck Police Department.
