Empty Beer Cans Found In Crashed Car Lead To Charges For Mercer County Teen: Report

Breaking: The car was found severely damaged but the driver was nowhere to be found, the report said.

HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Mercer County teenager is facing charges after empty beer cans and spilled beer were found in his crashed car last week, according to a report.

NJ.com reported police found the Mazda belonging to Garrett Simonian, 18, of Hopewell Township, crashed near the intersection of Mine Road and Route 612 on Dec. 22. Simonian was nowhere to be found, the report said.

The car was significantly damaged in the crash, the report said.

Simonian has been charged with underage possession of alcohol, failure to report a motor vehicle crash, leaving the scene of a crash, careless driving and having an open container of alcohol in the car, the report said.
