This marching band event by the award-winning Bushwackers is sponsored by the Valley Road School-Adaptive Reuse Committee (VRS-ARC) and Valley Road Community Center, Inc. (VRSCCI).
Founded in 1981, the Bushwackers are six-time DCA World Champions, a 60-member all-age drum and bugle corps coming fresh from the Jersey Shore Invitational Competition being held the previous week. Made up of brass, percussion and color guard sections, the Bushwackers are also known for their blue and magenta uniforms and modified cowboy hats and gloves. Members range from 14 to 35+ years old, with an average age of around 22. The Bushwackers provide a competitive, affordable, world class drum corps experience to its members, and operate with a volunteer staff of 37 that covers everything from brass and percussion instruction to program coordination and visual presentation. More information is available at: http://www.bushwackers.org.
VRSCCI is a 501(c)(3) that is proposing to convert the historic portion of Valley Road School to house the offices and activities of area nonprofit organizations, including two black box theaters. More information at HTTP://WWW.savevalleyroadschool.org.
