In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the inauguration of President Woodrow Wilson, the Woodrow Wilson School will host a conversation between John Milton Cooper, Jr. '61, author of "Woodrow Wilson: A Biography" and Julian Zelizer, professor of history and public affairs and presidential historian, at the Wilson School, on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at 4:30 p.m., Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall. The event is co-sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School and the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum. There will be a book sale and signing of Cooper's book following the discussion.

There will be a limited number of tickets available on a first-come, first served basis beginning at 4 p.m. outside Dodds Auditorium. Overflow seating will be available for those unable to obtain a ticket.

Cooper’s 2009 biography of Wilson was the first major biography of the 28^th president in almost two decades. A description of the biography notes that, “John Milton Cooper, Jr., reshapes our understanding of the man himself: his Wilson is warm and gracious—not at all the dour puritan of popular imagination. As the president of Princeton, his encounters with the often rancorous battles of academe prepared him for state and national politics. Just two years after he was elected governor of New Jersey, Wilson, now a leader in the progressive movement, won the Democratic presidential nomination and went on to defeat Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft in one of the twentieth century’s most memorable presidential elections.
