Now that spring is in full bloom, put on those running shoes and come out for the Stuart Country Day School Annual Poetry in Motion 5k Run and Children's Run. Proceeds support the Lies, Light and McCarthy Visiting Author Program which was established in 2008 as a way to bring the best in contemporary literature to the K-12 curriculum. The program was the dream of a beloved alumna, faculty member and former English department head, Victoria Flournoy McCarthy '71. A fund to support the program was established in her honor after her death, and is named after Stuart's three former English department heads: Betty Lies, Nancy Light and Victoria McCarthy. This year, Stuart hosted Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jhumpa Lahiri as their 2011 Visiting Author.

All Race participants will receive an event T-Shirt while supplies last. The first three finishers overall and the first finisher in each category will receive a gift.
Races held rain or shine. All children's races will take place on the Long Family Field or in the gym in case of rain. Registration fee is nonrefundable.
