Federal Donuts & Chicken Will Open New Restaurant In Mercer County

The restaurant is expected to begin operations in the spring.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Federal Donuts & Chicken is all set to open a new location in Mercer County. The new restaurant will open at MarketFair on Route 1, next to Barnes & Noble, according to the company website.

The Philadelphia-based restaurant serves fried chicken, donuts, salads, coffee, and other beverages. The store will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Federal Donuts & Chicken was founded in Philadelphia in 2011 by five restaurateurs, including chef Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook, both James Beard Award winners.

The menu includes spiced-cake donuts served glazed and topped, in milk glazes or made-to-order and tossed in sugar and spice blends. Chicken options include tenders with dipping sauces or seasonings and sandwiches, including the Original Chicken Sandwich with Rooster Sauce. Coffee is available hot or iced.

The company did not announce a specific opening date, but is expected to begin operations in the spring.
