PRINCETON, NJ — While it's time to tend to your lawns and gardens, it's important to remember that beginning Monday, the sustainable landscape ordinance goes into effect. This means a ban on the use of gas leaf blowers and other noise-generating landscaping equipment.

The idea of the ordinance is to encourage landscapers to use more sustainable methods.

The ordinance limits the use of gas leaf blowers until October when the restrictions lift for two months during peak fall. Read More: Gas Leaf Blower Ban Begins Monday In Princeton. Here's What To Know

On Tuesday, is the big meeting many residents have been waiting for - the special meeting on local cannabis retail. The last meeting was held on March 29, and over 350 people attended the four-hour-long discussion.

The Tuesday meeting will be a continuation of the discussion. "We're continuing to hear from the community. What the mayor outlined is that the 40 people that had their hands up during the March 29 meeting, would have an opportunity to speak at the beginning of the next meeting, then the council would have a discussion," said Councilwoman Eve Niedergang, chair of the Cannabis Task Force.

"Whether or not other people who didn't have their hands up, will be able to speak will really depend on what time it is at the end of that meeting."

Niedergang said councilmembers are watching the Cannabis Regulatory Commission closely, which has now put up more material about education, "because that's a really key component of this."

The meeting will be held virtually at 7 p.m. Click here for login details.

The Planning Board will be meeting on Thursday at 7 p.m. and on the agenda are Hun School's rezoning request and Simplify Living's alternate concept plan for the project on 39 Linden Lane. Documents can be found here.
