“The PEC is hopeful that the Green House Tour (GHT) will provide the community with an inspirational learning opportunity,” said Tammy Sands, PEC Chair.

“The GHT is for all Princeton residents - homeowners and renters alike - to see that there are various degrees of changes that can be made to create more sustainable living spaces.”

This free, public event begins with a screening of four videos featuring some of the homes on the tour, as well as their owners and builders.

The screening will be held at the Princeton Public Library at 10 a.m., and does not require registration.

After the screening, attendees can get tickets to take free, in-person tours of five homes and one ultra-sustainable yard from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., with multiple time slots.

Most homes are within walking distance of downtown Princeton.

“Princeton’s homes are responsible for about 20 percent of our community’s greenhouse gas emissions,” Christine Symington, Executive Director of Sustainable Princeton said in a statement.

“The homes featured in the videos and tours demonstrate how homeowners can help us reach our emissions reduction and climate resilience goals while saving money over the long run.”

Tickets are first come, first served and limited to 15 participants per time slot. Pre-registration is encouraged at www.PrincetonGreenHouseTour.com.
