Historical Society Of Princeton To Host LEGO ‘Building’ Event Sunday
Teams will construct historic structures and famous residences out of LEGO building blocks.

PRINCETON , NJ – The Historical Society of Princeton (HSP) will be hosting its 5th annual “Building Princeton” on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Wojciechowicz Barn at Updike Farmsteak.
With help from photographs, teams will recreate iconic Princeton structures out of LEGO building blocks. Participants can choose from more than 50 historic structures, famous residences, community buildings and houses of worship. They will add their models to a 30-foot map of Princeton.
The annual event, designed to increase awareness of the town’s rich architectural heritage, is led by architect Stephen W. Schwartz from Building Blocks Workshops.

Groups of up to four participants will around 100,000 LEGO building blocks at their disposal. The event is open to participants of all ages, but teams with children under age 16 need to include one adult.
“Adults love this program as much as the kids,” Director of Programs and Outreach Eve Mandel said. “It’s incredible to watch the construction of each building, but there’s nothing like seeing them all together on the map. It’s a LEGO skyline of Princeton.”

At the end of the event, each team will receive a copy of “The Princeton Architectural Treasure Hunt Map.” This encourages them to explore Princeton and find the actual buildings.
Participants should arrive at 2:30 p.m. to select their building and bring at least one container to hold loose LEGO pieces.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Tickets are available for $25-$35 per team online at www.princetonhistory.org.
