Kendall Park Resident Killed In Rt.1 Crash
A 21-year-old Kendall Park resident was killed on Jan. 2., after their car crashed into a dump truck on Route.1.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – A resident of Kendall Park, South Brunswick, was killed in a crash on Route.1 at Harrison Street, West Windsor, Jan. 2.
West Windsor Police have not yet released the name of the victim.
Police and emergency service personnel were dispatched to Route. 1 after reports of a serious vehicle collision. According to the police, the 21-year-old Kendall Park resident, driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla was travelling northbound on Route.1 and was approaching the Harrison Street intersection.

A 22-year-old Princeton resident was driving a 2005 international dump truck, travelling westbound on Harrison Street jughandle, planning to continue on Harrison Street.
Police said the traffic signal was red for Route. 1 traffic and green for the Harrison street jughandle, when the driver of the Toyota struck the dump truck, causing it to overturn. Both vehicles landed on the intersection of Route. 1, with the dump truck resting on the passenger side.

When police reached the scene, they found the driver of the Toyota Corolla entrapped in the wreckage. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the dump truck did not report any injuries.
There were no other passengers in both vehicles, said police.
Route. 1 was closed in both directions for around four hours on Jan. 2.
