“It's bittersweet to see the family sell the business. On the other hand, I’m really glad to hear it will continue as a stationary store. I just encourage our residents to continue to patronize this very important store for us.”
The business was first established in the 1800s as Rolands Stationery and occupied 74 Nassau Street.
In 1919 Harold M Hinkson purchased the business. In 1960 Bert Roberto bought the business from Hinkson and in 1964 relocated to 82 Nassau Street where it operated for almost 40 years.
In 2005, the business then moved to 28 Spring Street.
