Man Arrested, $13K In Drugs Seized In Mercer County Drug Raid: Prosecutor

Jose Santiago was arrested following a month-long investigation on Tuesday.

One person was arrested, and $13,480 in drugs was seized this week, following a month-long investigation, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said.

Jose Santiago, AKA King Silence, 26, of Trenton, was arrested without incident during a raid of his home at about 2 p.m. Tuesday. During the search, detectives said they found 574 Oxycontin, a half-pound of marijuana and $262 in cash. They estimated the value of the Oxycontin is $11,480, and the estimated value of the marijuana is $2,000.

Santiago is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute, possession with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, possession with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park, possession of marijuana over 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending further court proceedings.

The raid was executed by members of the the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Hamilton and Trenton police, under the command of the prosecutor’s Special Investigations Unit.
