Man Who Sexually Assaulted Princeton Woman While She Slept Broke Into Home on Same Street 2 Weeks Earlier: Police

A victim in the first incident was not sexually assaulted.

Princeton, NJ -- A man accused of sexually assaulting a Princeton woman while she slept was charged with burglary and harassment 15 days earlier, according to Princeton Police.

Pedro Arias-Santiago, 26, is accused of entering a home on the 200 block of Birch Avenue through an unlocked door at about 5 a.m. on June 14.

A 19-year-old Illinois resident who was staying at the home heard a noise and confronted Arias-Santiago, who then left.

The victim was not sexually assaulted in this case. The victim filed the report subsequent to the initial investigation.

Arias-Santiago was charged with Burglary and Harassment in this case and bail was set at $50,000 with a 10% option.

Arias-Santiago is also accused of breaking into a home on the same street on June 29, and sexually assaulting a woman while she slept. The woman woke up, escaped her home and called police.

Arias-Santiago was arrested outside the woman’s home in that incident.

His bail was set at $200,000 no 10% option in that case.

Arias-Santiago, an undocumented citizen from Guatemala, is currently lodged in the Mercer County Correctional Center on the original charges and bail.
