May is Bike Month in Princeton

May is Bike Month in Princeton, Mayor Liz Lempert said at the council meeting on May 12.

"Princeton is a bike friendly community as designated by the League of American Bicyclists," Lempert said in her declaration. "The Mayor’s Wellness Campaign promotes active living and healthy lifestyles, recognizes bicycling as an integral part of Complete Streets and endeavors to promote safe and responsible bicycling by providing suitable accommodations."

She further stated that bicycle commuting is an effective means to improve air quality, reduce traffic congestion and noise, conserve energy, and reduce household transportation expense.
