Mercer Co. Offering COVID Vaccine For Kids Under 5: What To Know
Children ages 6 months to 5 years recently became eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. The County is hosting a vaccine clinic on Thursday.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Families in Mercer County now have the opportunity to vaccinate their children against COVID-19.
The Mercer County Public Health Office will be hosting a vaccine clinic on Thursday at the CURE Insurance Arena from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A child must be at least 6 months through 5 in order to be vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Moderna and Pfizer vaccine has been approved for this age group.

The vaccination is a two-or-three-dose series depending on the vaccine chosen. The child will be scheduled for a follow-up before they leave the clinic.
No appointments are needed. The COVID-19 vaccine for all ages will also be available on that day.

Children are less likely to become seriously ill from COVID than adults, but more than 200,000 children nationwide have lost a parent or other in-home caregiver to the virus.
