Mercer County-Based Electronics Company Recalls 270K iPhone Cases: Authorities

Mercer County-based MixBin Electronics is recalling 270,000 iPhone cases due to the risk of skin irritation and burns, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The Liquid glitter iPhone cases are being recalled because the liquid and glitter can leak out of the case, causing skin irritation and burns. Anyone who bought the cases is urged to stop using them immediately and call MixBin Electronics for a full refund.

The recall includes 263,000 units nationally, as well as 11,400 in Canada and 400 in Mexico. They were made in China and sold at Amazon, Henri Bendel, MixBin, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch and Victoria’s Secret stores nationwide and online from October of through June of this year. They were sold for between $15 and $65.

A total of 24 incidents has been reported worldwide, including 19 in America. One consumer reported permanent scarring from a chemical burn and another consumer reported chemical burns and swelling to her leg, face, neck, chest, upper body and hands, according to the commission.
