Mercer County Freedom Festival Is Saturday Night

The first chance to see fireworks in Mercer County for the Fourth of July is Saturday night. The Mercer County Freedom Festival takes place Saturday night, June 24, on the Mercer County Park Festival Grounds.

Three bands will perform, there will be a number of games and activities and a dazzling fireworks display. The fireworks are scheduled to go off from 9:50 p.m.-10:20 p.m.

A Hot Car Rides and Truck Show kicks things off at noon, followed by the presentation of awards at 4 p.m. Another car show is set for 7 p.m.

DJ Avi will get the crowd warmed up for the bands by playing music beginning at 2:30 p.m. DJ Avi will also set off the fireworks later in the night.

Fish Out of Water follows at 3:30 p.m. Fish Out of Water describes itself as a high energy six-member cover band that has the ability to play classic rock, dance, hip hop, country, pop, hard rock, and pop punk tunes.

Element K performs at 5:30 p.m. Element K describes itself as an extremely versatile band that is as at home in a nightclub as it is at a wedding or private function.

Philadelphia-based female party band The Jump Off will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. It will perform until the fireworks show, and pick up after the fireworks until 11 p.m. The Jump Off plays everything from Guns and Roses to Ariana Grande with their own flair.

The West Point U.S. Army Jump Team will parachute into the festival at 5 p.m.
