Hamilton-based Szechuan House was recently voted best Chinese restaurant in the state by the national website 24/7WallSt.com.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — New Jersey has plenty of options for Chinese food. But according to a national website, the best Chinese food served in the state comes from Mercer County.
Szechuan House in Hamilton was voted best Chinese restaurant in the state by the national website 24/7WallSt.com.
“One look at the menu and you’ll see that this isn’t your everyday takeout joint: appetizers include diced rabbit with Szechuan peppercorn vinaigrette and jellyfish with scallion oil, and a section of the menu dedicated to Chengdu specialties includes dan dan noodles, shredded tea smoked duck with onion and red pepper, and fried yam cakes with sesame paste for dessert,” the website wrote.

“Along the way you’ll find House Specials that include beef tendon with rice jelly in spicy sauce, sliced conch with minced pork in Szechuan wine sauce, and a stellar Peking duck.”
Mercer County residents are quite familiar with this restaurant known for serving authentic Chengdu specialties.

In fact, Szechuan House has often won accolades for its food, including one of the best Chinese food restaurants in NJ Monthly’s Restaurant Poll 2014.
