Mercer County Woman Charged With Impersonating FBI Agent

Nealeigh Glasper of Trenton told police she was an FBI special agent during a traffic stop in April, authorities said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A woman from Mercer County is facing charges after she impersonated an FBI agent, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.

Nealeigh Glasper, 29, of Trenton, is charged with one count of impersonating an officer of an agency of the United States.

On April 13, officers from Trenton Police Department pulled over Glasper and another person for driving a car with heavily tinted windows in Trenton, authorities said.

Investigators said that Glasper “immediately and repeatedly” told the officers that she was an FBI special agent and stated that she “work[ed] cybersecurity in the Philly office.”

“Glasper continued to hold herself out as an FBI special agent, stated multiple times that she worked for the federal government, and offered to provide her badge to the officers,” said a media release from Hoing’s office. Officers then issued a citation to Glasper and ended the traffic stop, investigators said.

Officers then returned to the area after Glasper reported the driver could not find his license and believed that the officers had not returned it at the conclusion of the traffic stop, Hoing’s office said.

Authorities said Glasper was wearing an empty gun holster on her right hip and told officers that she would call her “superior” to report the misplaced license. “Glasper is not, and never has been, an FBI special agent,” Hoing’s office said.

The false impersonation charge is punishable by a maximum potential penalty of three years in prison and a maximum fine of up to $250,000.

On Wednesday Glasper appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Lois H. Goodman in Trenton federal court and was released on a $25,000 unsecured bond, authorities said.
