Millennium Memory Care Acquires Two New Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Locations in New Jersey
Millennium Memory Care (MMC) has acquired two new facilities to add to its rapidly growing group of Alzheimer's and Dementia care homes.
Monroe, New Jersey, January 26, 2016 – Millennium Memory Care (MMC) has acquired two new facilities to add to its rapidly growing and very successful group of Alzheimer’s and Dementia care homes. The first MMC location in Monroe, New Jersey was opened in late fall of 2014 and reached capacity by the beginning of 2015, prompting owner and Director Galina Markovich to consider expansion.
Markovich is confident that there are three main ingredients for MMC’s formula for success: her innovative, extensive experience in dementia care and therapeutic home environments, the close supervision of MMC’s very knowledgeable Medical Director, Dr. Katseva, and the compassionate, personally trained staff. Markovich says:
“The small, intimate nature of our home enables us to provide a high caregiver-to-resident ratio. This makes it possible for each care team member to get to know each resident on a personal level. The results have been nothing short of amazing.”

For Galina and the staff at MMC, there is no question that their methods are effective, and so once they reached capacity, they began their search for locations appropriate for additional Alzheimer’s and Dementia care homes. That search ended quickly after a discussion with a colleague who was considering downsizing her established group of five homes, Alcouer Gardens.
As of now, two of the five Alcouer Gardens locations, one at 447 Matawan Avenue in Matawan, NJ, and the other at 111 Bowne Road in Ocean, NJ, have been transitioned to Millennium Memory Care, which will operate the facilities under the Millennium Memory Care brand name. Another MMC facility is under construction in Holmdel, New Jersey and is expected to open in the spring of 2016.

Of course, all current residents of those two facilities will remain where they are, and the new ownership and management team promises to continue the same level of care that the current residents have come to expect. “We are doing everything possible,” says Markovich “to make this transition have little or no detrimental effect on any of the residents or their families.”
Of course, transitions like this always present challenges, and both parties were concerned that the transition be as easy as possible for the residents. A new management team with new methods, programs and staff can be disruptive to residents who are sensitive to disturbances in the familiar. Happily, after only a short time, the residents have adjusted nicely to the new MMC methods and staff, and many have already begun to benefit from the unique approach of Ms. Markovich and company.
For example, Sylvia Smith, whose husband Harold, originally a resident at Alcouer Gardens and now under the care of Millennium Memory Care, had this to say:
“I am happy with the care that my husband is receiving. I was concerned about the transition, but now I am happy that he has been well taken care of. The quality of the Aides has been very good for my husband, and the food is excellent!”
Markovich understands that there will be a growing need for quality Alzheimer’s and Dementia care over the next few decades, and she is dedicated to providing the unique and innovative style of small scale intimate care that Millennium Memory Care is already known for. It seems likely, then, that we will be seeing more locations in New Jersey and perhaps beyond as we approach the next decade.
