A Mind at Play: An Evening with Authors Jimmy Soni and Rob Goodman

Join authors Jimmy Soni and Rob Goodman for a hybrid discussion of their best-selling book "A Mind at Play: How Claude Shannon Invented the Info Age." Known as “The Father of Information Theory,” Claude Shannon is considered one of the 20th century’s most important scientists. His insights stand behind every computer built, email sent, video streamed, and webpage loaded. "A Mind at Play" offers an inquisitive and vibrant look into Shannon’s singular life including his time working for Bell Labs.

In-person guests may visit the museum and the "Ma Bell" exhibition from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m. prior to the screening and discussion. Doors open for the in-person version of the event in the Stockton Education Center at 6:00 p.m. Copies of "A Mind at Play: How Claude Shannon Invented the Info Age" will be available for purchase from Morven's museum shop with the opportunity for author signing following the program. For virtual attendees, a Zoom webinar link will be shared via email prior to the event. A recording will be sent to those registered following the program.
