Modified Opening For Princeton Schools On Thursday

PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Public Schools will have a delayed opening on Thursday due to inclement weather, the district announced Wednesday night.

"While the snowfall in Princeton has been less than what was forecasted, the totals in many surrounding areas have been significant," Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Cochrane said in a statement on the district's website. "The snow is expected to continue into the night, with possible icy road conditions in the morning. To ensure the safe arrival of all our students and staff, we will be having a 90-minute delayed opening tomorrow morning, Thursday, March 22, 2018. Thank you for your understanding, and please use caution during your morning commute."

Princeton University will resume normal operations at 8 a.m. on Thursday. Only employees in essential services roles should report to work before 8 a.m., the university said on its website. TigerTransit buses will resume normal operation as of 5 a.m. Thursday.

The university was closed Wednesday because of heavy snowfall. Classes are not in session, as it is the week of spring break.
