Montessori Country Day School Holds Annual International Day

Students studied different countries and celebrated cultures of the world through song, dance, food and more

On March 30, Montessori Country Day School in Plainsboro held its annual International Day to celebrate cultures of the world. During the event, students performed songs and dances, sampled foods, sported traditional clothing and gave presentations, including an Indonesian shadow puppet show. Each classroom, which was assigned a different emblem, studied various characteristics of countries. The “sunflower” classroom learned about national symbols of Japan, China and India; the “sage” classroom focused on India, its flag, languages and cuisine; and the “ivy” classroom studied the Middle East, its deserts, mountains, native animals and more. Through their International Day activities, students learned the importance of studying different countries and their cultures.
