An offensive Nazi vs. Jews beer pong game played by students from a New Jersey high school has sparked a national outrage, and caught the school district's attention.

A photo of Princeton High School students playing the "Jews vs. Nazis" drinking game initially surfaced on social media and on a blog published by a junior at the school.

The photo exposes a version of "beer pong" called "Holocaust Pong" or "Alcoholocaust," according to several websites, including Jamaica Ponder's "...only a little bit famous" blog.

Ponder, a junior at the school, exposed the game and the photo showing how beer cups are arranged in a Star of David and swastika formation. The "Jews" are allowed to "Anne Frank,'' meaning they can hide one of their cups. The Nazis are allowed to "Auschwitz" their opponents, requiring one of the players to miss their turn or sit out a round.

"Today I’m coming to you live from the futon in my room with some fresh off the boat debauchery straight from the students of Princeton High School," she wrote in her blog, which she allowed to Patch publish with her permission.

"This here is even more appalling than the usual stuff. Honestly, it’s ridiculous- but it would be even more ridiculous for me to come across such ignorance and not utilize it as an example for anyone else harboring the misconception that they can walk around doing dumb stuff like this and not get called out. So here we are."

Princeton schools Superintendent Steve Cochrane released a statement, saying the district is talking to the students and their families, but he didn't address whether action will be taken.

"As an individual and as the superintendent of the Princeton Public Schools, I am deeply upset that some of our students chose to engage in a drinking game with clearly anti-Semitic overtones and to broadcast their behavior over social media," Cochrane said in a statement published by nj.com and Planet Princeton.

"Underage drinking is not a new problem; nor is the misuse of social media; nor are actions of bias or bigotry....They are not new problems, but they do not have to be ongoing ones."

T.V. stations and other news outlets from across the nation have published stories regarding the game, eliciting a host of negative comments on Twitter and elsewhere - though some have come to the defense of students.

Ponder said basement room the photo was taken blocks away rom her own Princeton house, and she contacted her school guidance counselor before she posted the picture on her blog. She has met with several school administrators about the photo, including the school principal.

She's even taken some heat from people on Twitter.

In her blog, Ponder noted that the photo and the game were also exposed on Snapchat and other social media.

"Putting the picture on social media means that someone was proud enough of the game to want to show it off," she wrote. "Meaning that they must be trapped in the delusional mindset that making a drinking game based off of the Holocaust is cool. Or funny. Or anything besides insane. Because that’s what this is: insanity."
