Princeton Man Hit By Car On Rosedale Road Dies

Pinghua Xu​, 82, succumbed to his injuries, police said. He was hit by a car last Wednesday while crossing Rosedale Road.

PRINCETON NJ – Pinghua Xu, the 82-year-old pedestrian who was injured last Wednesday while crossing Rosedale Road has died, Princeton Police confirmed.

At 8:03 a.m. on Wednesday, driver Anju Rai, 54, was traveling east on Rosedale Road in a Lexus ES 350. Xu activated the pedestrian crossing signal located at the intersection of Rosedale Road and General Johnson Drive at the entrance to Johnson Park School, and attempted to cross Rosedale Road, police said. When Xu was in the eastbound lane, he was struck by the Lexus ES 350, police said.

Xu was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, while Rai did not report any injuries, police said.

Investigation into the crash is currently ongoing. The Police Department is requesting anybody who witnessed the crash to contact Det. Travis Allie at 609-921-2100 ext. 2123 or
