Princeton Closes Municipal Offices, Playgrounds Amid Coronavirus
Princeton is taking extra precautions on Tuesday to help stop the spread of the new coronavirus.
PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton is taking extra precautions on Tuesday to help stop the spread of the new coronavirus.
Princeton announced all municipal buildings will be closed to the public from Tuesday through Friday, March 20, and only essential employees will report to work.
"The purpose of the closure will be to enable municipal officials, the health officer, and the department of emergency management to implement proper protocols and train employees to continue providing essential government services to the public during this health crisis while adhering to proper safety measures," the town announced.

Additionally all municipality of Princeton playgrounds and sand boxes are closed until further notice. Temporary fencing will be installed. Municipal parks will remain open for walking, jogging, hiking, biking, etc.

All meter regulations and all on-street permit parking regulations are also suspended until further notice.
Residents are reminded to continue taking essential safety precautions, including social distancing and frequent hand washing.
"Princeton's officials are monitoring the situation on a continuous basis and are working closely with other municipalities in the County and State as well as with local, county and state health and emergency management officials," the town stated. "These directives will be modified or supplemented as the ever-changing situation warrants."
