Princeton Coffee Company Expands To New Location
Sakrid Coffee Roasters had a ribbon-cutting for their Witherspoon Street shop earlier this week.
PRINCETON, NJ — Sakrid Coffee Roasters has opened a new location at the former site of the Princeton Packet on Witherspoon Street, making handcrafted drinks for customers and offering classes and tastings.
This new coffee shop is at 300 Witherspoon Street, and is Sakrid's second one in town. Hours for the Witherspoon Street location are Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The owners of Sakrid were hoping to add a roasting facility at their second location, but the zoning board denied the application for the operation in June.

Neighbors had expressed concerns that a roasting operation at the facility, which is located close to Community Park Elementary School, would release volatile organic compounds into the air and create an unpleasant smell.
During past meetings, Sakrid had brought in many experts to testify that the roasting process would not be harmful to the environment or residents.

However, the Zoning Board finally denied the application based on whether they could allow a manufacturing use in a commercial district, where it’s not permitted.
Sakrid also operates a coffee shop at the corner of Nassau Street and Chambers Street.
