Princeton To Consider Fire Department Ordinance, Parking Rules Monday
Meeting also includes proclamations, resolutions on youth orchestra license and $195K equipment contract.
PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Mayor and Council will meet Monday, at 7 p.m. in Main Council Chambers, with a public hearing on an ordinance amending the fire department code and the introduction of a new Henry Avenue parking ordinance among the items on the agenda.
Council members will hold a public hearing and vote on Ordinance 26-30, which would amend Chapter 8 of the township code regarding the Princeton Fire Department.
Two ordinances will be introduced for the first time. Ordinance 26-31 would regulate parking on Henry Avenue, with a public hearing scheduled for Sept. 28. Ordinance 26-32 would consolidate and update the borough and township's signage regulations, with a public hearing set for Oct. 12.

The council will also consider six resolutions, including:
- Authorizing revocable license agreements with the Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra and Princeton Pro Musica.
- Approving the purchase of a 2027 Ford T250 cargo van from Ciocca Ford of Flemington for $52,140.50 through a state contract.
- Awarding a $195,886.31 contract to Jet Vac Equipment for an HD camera system and vehicle upfit.
- Authorizing a $168,000 payment to Princeton Public Schools for hazardous busing transportation costs from the 2025-2026 school year.
- Awarding a contract to CivicPlus LLC for website hosting and modules, not to exceed $44,432.30.
A consent agenda includes resolutions on the payment of bills and claims, a liquor license transfer from Varsity Liquors to Princeton Beverage Company, and multiple property tax refunds totaling nearly $93,000.

The council will also hear a presentation on Historic Preservation Commission design guidelines from Historic Preservation Officer Sara Quinlan and Dominique Hawkins of Preservation Design Partnership, along with a discussion on a historic marker.
Two proclamations are on the agenda: one honoring Neal Snyder on his retirement, and another celebrating Welcome Week 2026.
