Princeton Council to Hold Meeting on University's Tax Exempt Status

The closed session meeting begins at 4 p.m.

Princeton Council will discuss Princeton University’s tax-exempt status during a closed session meeting at 4 p.m. Monday afternoon in Meeting Room A of Witherspoon Hall, 400 Witherspoon Street.

A lawsuit that challenges the tax-exempt status of some of the University’s buildings that are used for commercial use, such as eateries, has been filed by some residents, according to Planet Princeton.

The University is also being accused of acting like a for-profit institution, including holding a licensing agreement for a chemotherapy drug, according to the report.
