Princeton High Football Falls to Hopewell, 26-0

Tigers are now 2-2 for the season.

Princeton High Football Coach Joe Gargione knew this year's team was different than the one that ended last season 0-10.

He didn't know this year's team would differ so much from week to week.

Hopewell defeated Princeton, 26-0, at Princeton on Saturday.

"We'd like to get some consistency going," Gargione said. "We're 2-0 away and 0-2 at home this season. We also haven't scored a point at home this season."

This is the second year in a row that Hopewell has shut out Princeton.

"Obviously, that is not a good thing," Gargione said. "Nothing clicked on offense. Defensively, we were missing assignments and allowing them to gain a lot of yards."

This was a surprise because Princeton had momentum going into the game.

"We certiainly didn't think we'd go in and lose," Gargione said. "We also made sure to tell the kids that couldn't just expect to walk on the field and win. Hopewell can play. I knew it would be a tough game. It certainly was."

The Princeton team hopes its streak of winning every other game holds when it faces at Allentown Thursday night at 6 p.m.

"Allentown took it to us last year," Gargione noted. "Last year is history, though. We just have to be prepared to play in every facet of the game."
