Princeton High School Gets New Assistant Principal

Cecilia X. Birge has been appointed the new acting assistant principal at Princeton High School. She replaces Angela Siso Stentz.

PRINCETON, NJ — Cecilia X. Birge has been named acting assistant principal at Princeton High School. She replaces Angela Siso Stentz, who will now serve as the acting principal of Johnson Park. The announcement was made by Princeton Public Schools through a press release.

Interim Superintendent Barry Galasso said he was pleased with Birge’s appointment and called her an “outstanding teacher and accomplished educator."

Birge first joined Princeton High School in 2012. Between 2013 and 2015, she worked at Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood. She returned in 2015 and has been the head coach of the speech and debate team.

During her time at Princeton High School, Birge was a liaison with the Chinese American community. She worked with the guidance counselors and the superintendent to bridge cultural gaps and promote race relations.

She’s been active in helping community organizer identify and support families suffering hardships.

A teacher of special education and mathematics, Birge has a bachelor's degree in history from Bryn Mawr College, and a master's degree from Teachers College of Columbia University. She was a Silver Medalist in the U.S. Open Tae Kwon Do Hanmadang in 2012.

Birge joins two other assistant principals — Rashone Johnson and Jared Warren.
